You must still remember the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Yes, Atlanta impressed the world by successfully managing the largest scale and the most advanced Olympic Games till then, and attracted some 3 trillion audiences to witness this grand view on TV. That is when this exquisite city began to step on the international stage and appear frequently in people's sight.

As the capital and the largest city of Georgia, Atlanta is nicknamed as "the Phoenix City", implying the city's incredibly rapid development. In addition, it was the center for the American Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s. Famous black politician Martin Luther King was born in this city and played an important role with his students in that movement.

Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site is definitely a must-see in Atlanta. This site is composed of several buildings, including Martin's boyhood home, where you can feel the dream of this great person repeating in his mind, the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Martin was baptized and buried, and the Freedom Hall, in which a nonprofit agency is set up for accomplishing Martin's will. Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4th, 1968. On that day every year, large crowds----both white and black----would gather at the site for commemorating their respectable leader. Special ceremony is also held on the third Monday of January----the Martin Luther King Day.

By the way, are you a Coca-cola fan? That's it. Atlanta is where the famous soft drink company and the same famous World of Coca-Cola located. This brand was originated in 1886 and is now enjoyed over 1 billion times a day. Here in the World of Coca-Cola a collection of package and T-shirts are in exhibition for making known the Coca-Cola yesterday and present.
